Mosaic Shell Plate - Red Roses

Show off all your snacks or all your trinkets in this gorgeous, sculptural shell plate. I've never seen such a thing! 

Handmade in Brooklyn by Michele Mirisola of Chell Fish. She uses a mix of oyster, mussel, scallop and/or clam shells from our local fish market (after eating them, of course), applies air drying clay details, and coats them in food-safe resin. Hand painted with gouache.

Dimensions: approx 8" long x 7.25" wide x 2.25" tall

Care: Food safe! Hand wash. Do not microwave or put in the dishwasher. Foods that dye your fingers will probably stain the resin (like beets, turmeric, etc.). These will yellow if left in direct sunlight for many months - so maybe they aren't your best windowsill decoration! If used as an ashtray, burn marks will appear... so maybe also don't do that ;)
